FACS 113: iNTRODUCTION TO 2D dESIGN
UNITY,EMPHASIS,
SCALE,BALANCE,
AND RHYTHM
The goal of this project was to recreate an ad while using at least 3 principles of design. I chose to use unity, emphasis, and balance. Unity was achieved through the color. By creating a focal point towards the middle of the ad, emphasis was implemented. Balance is seen through the placement of the colors in the grid structure. I was graded on the use of the principles of design, presentation, creativity, and following the directions.
PATTERN & TEXTURE, LINE & SHAPE
For this project, I was to establish a theme and find things around me that looked like each letter of the alphabet without being moved or manufactured. My theme was "rustic industrial". Each of the objects in which the letters were found had and influence in the designing of the exterior and interior, the furnishing, and the decorating of the buildings in Downtown Lynchburg. I chose to apply a black and white filter to make the images more cohesive and to distinguish the lines of the letters.

This project focused on color. I was to exemplify the value change and balance of color. Therefore, I incorporated a gradient in the sky to show analogous colors. Additionally, the value change is seen in the hot air balloon in the blue. The colors used, red, yellow, and blue demonstrate a triadic color scheme. I also decided to add a 3D effect by raising the hot air balloon circles with foam stickers.
RENDERING/
PHOTOSHOP PROJECT
The goal of this project was to take the given floor plan and create renderings by choosing fabrics anf furniture that would follow a complementary color scheme and an analogous color scheme.
